Braille subtext
With trembling fingertips
In an environment
Where I was forbidden
To feel.
I was taught
That expressing my hurt
Was not valid within itself—
It was an act of
Defiance or Disobedience
I used to resist
Being an active participant
In violations of my boundaries.
Walking the lines between
Abuser and abetting
Betrayer and betrayed,
Beware.
